FAQs

How many people can stay at The Chalet? The Chalet sleeps up to 6 people. It has 3 bedrooms: 1 double bedroom, 2 twin bedroom and 1 bunkbed room.

Can we bring our dog? Unfortunately not. We don't allow pets at The Chalet because of allergies suffered by our family and by some of our guests.

Is The Chalet no-smoking? The Chalet is a completely no-smoking and no-vaping property.

Do you provide a cot and high chair? Yes! If you need a cot and/or high chair please let us know in advance so we can have them ready for your arrival.

Where is the nearest supermarket? There are basic essentials available in Croyde from Croyde Post Office or Ruda Holiday Park. For a bigger food shop there is a small Tesco in nearby Braunton (EX33 2FB). You can also buy groceries from Cawthornes Foodmarket in Braunton. All the major supermarkets are available in Barnstaple except for Morrisons and Waitrose.

Can we walk to the beach? Absolutely! We walk to the beach very often and it takes us about 15 mins. It may take longer with small children. The majority of the route is flat, easy and well marked. Milkaway Lane, leading to The Chalet from the village, is uphill for about 1/4 km.

Can we use plastic during our stay and what does plastic-free mean? Of course you can buy and use plastic during your stay!

The Chalet is a plastic-free business affiliated with the charity Plastic-Free North Devon. This means that, as a business, we avoid single use plastics and focus on natural products rather than plastic whenever possible. This is a personal business choice for us. The restrictions are for us and not for you. It does not in any way limit your use of plastic during your stay.

Are there many footpaths near The Chalet? Yes! The Chalet is ideally located for a walking holiday. Milkaway Lane is itself a footpath and on a crossroads of other paths. There are numerous stunning walking options right from your front door and easy access to the south-west coastpath. We have lots of suggestions so please ask us if you want some ideas.
